Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is this normal? I was trying to get out of the house to run some errands and it got to the point where we were ready to walk out the door and this is how it went:
1:00--finished lunch and put on everybody's shoes.
1:10--saw that I had mud on my pants from feeding horses and continually carting Petey away from the corral and had to go change before I went out.
1:15--brought Petey's carseat out to the car (it had been taken out the day before) to put it back in and saw the back was full of junk from a Daddy/son trip the day before and had to empty the back, then reattach the carseat and get Petey buckled in.
1:25--saw Jacob wasn't in his seat. Saw he was playing with his toy car 20 feet away from the car. Asked him what he was doing and was informed he was pooping. Checked. Sure enough. Thought, "This kid has been potty-trained almost a year! What's the deal?" Started to feel like Tyrannosaurus Rex.
1:35--after Jacob had finished pooping (on the toilet) had to rinse out his clothes and get him some new ones.
1:40--finally got everyone buckled in the car 40 minutes late, then realized I had forgotten my list, to lock the front door, and to put the trashcan up so the dogs didn't spread its contents all over the house while we were away, which they have taken to doing. Started to sound like Tyrannosaurus Rex. Went back inside to take care of stuff. One dog was waiting suspiciously near the trashcan. Ah, ha. Resisted kicking it. Barely.
1:45--FINALLY turned the key and got out of there. Realized later that after all I had done, I had forgotten to bring something that I had intended to return to the store.
So...is this normal? Who takes a full 45 minutes to turn the key in their car from the time they think they are ready to walk out the door and be on their way? And forgets stuff anyway? And I'm having another one? What on earth was I thinking?

Yes, I did know that! Nevermind. I just had a total mind blank for a minute. But congratulations again! Do you know what you are going to have yet?
Actually, we're not going to find out. We're going to be surprised. Pretty cool, huh?
Aren't you glad you are a stay at home mom? Can you imagine the chaos if you actually had to be somewhere on time everyday?!
