Yep, we got it. The flu struck the O'Neil household. I haven't been to the doctor so I don't know if it is the swine flu or regular old flu, but I have had the flu before and I'm pretty sure this is flu. Even my eyeballs hurt. Really.
The worst thing is, yesterday my boys started showing symptoms, and that worries me more than anything. Jacob's fever went up to 103.6, which was just high enough to raise my eyebrows. And poor big Jacob has had his hands full.
It's hard being sick when you're the mom. All I want to do is lie down and sleep, but I have to care for my babies, as well as still bring in wood for the fire, keep up on laundry, keep the house at least moderately liveable, etc. Big Jacob has been good about dinner. If we have to live on frozen pizza, chicken wings, and tater tots for a week, I'm still so grateful that it is something he has decided to take on so I don't have to worry about it for a while. Not that Jacob isn't a great cook, because he is, but he is also still a full-time student and doesn't have time to be a gourmet cook too.
At least he doesn't have to worry about getting sick because he had to have the shots to get his clinical clearance last semester. We could have had the shots, but I didn't think it was necessary. It's not like polio, where if you get it you may well die or at least be crippled for the rest of your life. I know how to treat the flu, and we'll get through this and be the stronger for it in the end.

Yucky! I don't think I have ever had the flu, just from the descriptions that I have heard from people who have had it - but it sure sounds miserable. I hope you guys recover quickly!
