We don't buy bread anymore. I make only 100% whole wheat bread at home, which is extra work but you couldn't pay me to go back to buying the fluffy bread paste you buy at the store. Plus, it's a lot cheaper.
Anyway, I was directed to a cool website where you can get bread-baking supplies really cheaply. It's the yeast that especially drew me to it. It's only $3.99 for a whole pound in those vacuum-packed containers! Lest you think that buying in bulk is no good because you could never go through that much yeast before it went off, the website claims that the yeast keeps for a year in the fridge and two years in the freezer. This is less than 1/4 the price of yeast at Walmart, which has the cheapest yeast around. Not that I like to go to Walmart. In this small town they ran everyone else out of business, but that's another story.
Anyway, they have a lot of other cool stuff for really cheap, like gluten and dough enhancer, among many other things. Shipping isn't that cheap, but if you bake a lot of bread like I do, it is still a lot cheaper than buying the stuff at the store, even with the shipping.
